We are almost halfway through summer, and for Warrnambool and other coastal towns like Port Fairy and Port Campbell, this is peak tourism season. Warrnambool’s holiday parks and major attractions have recorded a strong summer season, with Surfside and Shipwreck Bay Holiday Parks fully booked over the Christmas and New Year period.
More than 6,700 visitors stayed over 20,000 nights, matching last summer’s figures, with major events expected to further boost numbers.
Flagstaff Hill welcomed over 11,200 visitors, with daytime entry up 28 per cent and overall attendance increasing year on year.
The Art Gallery also saw strong regional visitation, while the broader visitor economy is being described as busy and positive.
